Kratom in thebaic withdrawal syndrome treatment (general information)
Attention! This article should in no case be considered as a guide for self-treatment and does not advocate the use of any psychoactive substances. All materials presented should be used for information only.
The popularity of Kratom has recently increased significantly in many counties; it is not surprising that the high-quality natural leaves of this plant have a number of unique pharmacological properties when used correctly.
The main pharmacological effects of Kratom are as follows:
1. Central anesthetic effect with a complex mechanism of action;
2. Invigorating, stimulating effect;
3. Timoanaleptic (antidepressant) effect;
4. Antitussive effect (without oppression of the respiratory center);
5. Anti-inflammatory effect;
6. Immunostimulating effect;
7. Sedative, anxiolytic (anti-pain) effect;
8. Antidiarrheal (antidiarrheal) effect.
The combination of these pharmacological effects indicates that Kratom is an effective and low-toxic agent for the treatment of acute tebaika withdrawal syndrome (hereinafter - TWS). However, today there are only a few official scientific studies devoted to this topic: the pharmacology of Kratom is developing very slowly, but there is no doubt that official medicines based on Kratom are used in narcological or psychiatric practice. Nevertheless, for hundreds of years, Kratom has been successfully used for various purposes in traditional medicine of several countries in Southeast Asia. On the other side,
The current situation seems paradoxical, since information about the effect of this plant, its “medical” use, its effectiveness and safety, as a rule, does not come from serious and scientific sources, but directly from people who use Kratom for their own purposes and then publish your reports on various sites. The fact that Kratom is widely used for medical and other purposes by individuals around the world “catalyzed” fundamental research on the pharmacology of Kratom.
However, there are many successful stories of overcoming substance dependence; These people managed to overcome this only thanks to the correct use of Kratom. We have analyzed many such cases and are ready to present to the reader the most important information regarding the ingestion of Kratom in TWS, from our point of view.
It should be mentioned once again - this article does not call for the treatment of any diseases or for the use of psychoactive substances. This article is for reference only.
Studying and analyzing successful cases of reducing withdrawal symptoms with the help of Kratom suggests that Kratom can be quite effective in this regard. At the same time, there are several reports regarding various problems and potential risks if Kratom is swallowed.
We believe that first of all, all possible dangers and other problems that may arise as a result of self-medication of TWS by ingestion of Kratom should be mentioned. As a rule, the potential risks associated with ingestion of Kratom arise from the irresponsible use of the plant, as a result of its overdose, especially in the case of its long and uncontrolled intake. Moreover, people with various types of addiction to psychoactive substances (even in the case of an anamnesis) constitute the main “risk group”, and this fact must be taken into account first.
The most dangerous potential risks of swallowing Kratom to reduce TWS are:
1. The possibility of developing a poly-substance / political substance abuse;
2. The possibility of the same type of chemical dependence "substitution" of another;
3. The possibility of harmful interaction of Kratom with other drugs;
4. The possibility of unpredictable personal reactions to taking Kratom.
Of course, there are other potential risks, only the most important ones are listed here.
To understand the attractiveness of Kratom for people intending to overcome the chemical dependence of solid biological substances, let's briefly study the pharmacology of the main psychoactive substances of Kratom (in recent years more information has been received on this issue).
Kratom contains several dozens of active alkaloids, the most studied and most important of them are: mitraginine, 7-hydroxymitraginine, specialcyliatin, pinanthein, specialoginin. It is well known that the Kratom leaf contains not only the alkaloids listed above, but also several tens of active compounds, and this fact should also be taken into account.
Although the pharmacology of Kratom has been studied quite superficially, it is known that at least mitraginin and 7-hydroxymitraginine show high analgesic properties in assays with high activity, but their mechanism of action is associated with a direct stimulating effect on at least 3 types of opioid receptors (kappa and delta receptors) and norepinephrine.
